Nike Air Max Mythical

Released in 2003 those shoes were just one more of the large list of Nike Air Max series designed for basketball. With a large air max unit they offered great impact protection so they were worn by some of the big man of the NBA like Dirk Nowiztki or Brad Miller. In fact we could called them Dirk Nowitzki´s signature shoes because the german played with those shoes on his feet for more than a year.

Adidas T-Mac 3

The third installment of the Tracy McGrady signature shoe made its debut for the start of the 2003-2004 NBA Season but it wasnt officialy released until 2004 in white/royal or black/royal colourways.

For the 2004 NBA All Star Game T-Mac wore a pair of T-Macs 3 each one in a different colour.  It was one of the last appearance of him with the shoes on the court because shortly after the All Star Weekend he began to wear the new Adidas T-Mac 3.5

 In 2014 those famous blue and red mismatched TMac 3 form the All Star Game were released in a limited edition of only 200 pairs. Later that year Adidas released the retro ones with the original Orlando Magic colourways

Converse Weapon

Another iconic sneaker of the 80s. The rumorology said Magic Johnson and Larry Bird became close friends after filming the commercial for this sneaker at Bird's home. But what it's really true is that outside Michael Jordan almost all the superstars of the NBA in the second part of the 80s wore the Converse Weapon. The sneaker featured the Y-Bar Ankle Support System for strong ankle support that gave them their famous look.

However players like Bird, Magic or Isiah Thomas wore a combination of the Converse Weapon that you could buy on the stores with the sole from the older Converse Pro Leather. Not sure if it was a pre-model or they felt more comfortable the former model or maybe it was just quality control issue.

In 2009 Converse released the Converse Weapon 86, a retro version in three different colourways including the Lakers and the Celtics's ones. Later in 2014 Converse released a new remastered Converse Weapon with a few changes internally and externally to improve the confort of the sneaker plus new colorways.

Nike Air Futuristic

The Nike Air Futuristic was released in the summer of 2001. With a large Air max unit in the sole to offer impact protection those shoes were worn by many players in the 2001-2002 NBA Season with the rookie of the year Pau Gasol or Tony Parker among them.

Adidas a3 Electrify

The second Adidas basketball shoe with a3 technology was oficially released on July 1st, 2003. Previously Tim Duncan (who had signed with Adidas early that year) worn those shoes in the 2003 NBA Playoffs in his way to win the NBA title and the Finals MVP.

Nike Shox BB4

The first shoe to introduce the Nike Shox technology made its debut for the 2000 Summer Olympic Games at Sidney, Australia. The shoes in USA personalized colours were worn by the Nike members of the USA Team Jason Kidd, Antonio McDyess, Allan Houston, Abdur-Rahim and the recently signed Vince Carter.  To commemorate the Men's Basketball Final in Sydney nike.com offered 500 pairs of the shoe in the gold colour.


The Nike Shox BB4 were officially released in November 2000 with Black/Silver/Lapis colours. At time for the start of the NBA season 2000-2001 those who played for the USA Team in the Olympic Games had their own Nike Shox BB4 with personalized team colours. There was a limited edition of 500 shoes called "Vince Carter All Star".

In 2019 Nike released the Nike Shox BB4 Retro in OG colours

AND1 Tai Chi Mid

The shoe that changed it all for AND1, previously a nearly unknown brand founded in 1993 by a group of students.

In 1998 Vince Carter was selected in the NBA draft and he signed a deal with Puma. However his market value increased a lot after his rookie season so he broke the contract . One of the clauses implied that he couldn't sign with another shoe brand during the 1999-2000 NBA Season so he worn shoes of many brands.  Vince Carter picked a pair of And1 Tai Chi Mid for the 2000 NBA All Star Weekend at Oakland,CA where he won the Dunk Contest. The rest is History.

The And1 Tai Chi Mid was a lightweight shoe released in 1999. It features an asymmetrical colour side that made it really original. It was sold around 75$. Since then it have been released a lot of retro models in many different colours. In 2013 for the 20th anniversary And1 released 1993 pairs of the shoe in the black and white original colours.
